"A Malibu Surf"

from $45.00

Taken on 35mm film in Malibu, California - 2019.

Printed on fine art paper at State Film Lab in Louisville, Kentucky.

—

My friend Morgan and I were visiting Los Angeles for the week and we spent the last day of our trip driving up through the Hidden Hills and down through Malibu and then ending the day in Venice Beach. When in Malibu, we lucked out in finding a close-ish free parking spot so we could walk down to the beach. The weather was a perfect 75-80 and sunny, I think with a slight warm ocean breeze. There were a few people sunbathing and picnicking on the beach, but most people were either fishing off of the pier or surfing the salty waves. It seemed like a scene from a book or a movie — to watch surfers in Malibu.
